Technology helping farmers – new web and mobile based app launched

Congratulations to Marsden Jacob Associates (MJA) on the development of Waterflow.

Waterflow is a new web and mobile app developed by MJA, it is designed to give farmers and irrigators free, up-to-date vital water trading information.

The app is designed to provide fast access to timely, reliable and real-time information in a single, easy-to-use source.

It is a powerful tool that gives users greater confidence to participate in the water market by helping them make well-informed decisions and manage their risks. At the same time it improves market transparency by drawing together data from a range of sources into one place.

How did we help?

MJA received over $1m funding from round one of the Business Research Innovation Initiative (BRII). The Initiative posed five challenges from various Australian Government agencies for SMEs to develop solutions. MJA responded to a challenge proposed by the Department of Agriculture, Water and Resources to improve transparency and reliability of water market information.

The funding provided MJA, in partnership with Alliance Software, the opportunity to develop and test their product with market participants and stakeholders. The app demonstrates a great example of a small business developing an innovative technology, with support from the Government, to help solve a complex problem.
